Building a Foundation in Finance
Reema began her career at Stern Stewart & Co. in New York. In this early role, she evaluated companies through the EVA framework, which introduced her to structured methods for analyzing performance. The experience played an essential role in shaping her disciplined, data-oriented approach to investment and strategy.
From there, Reema gained further experience at Morgan Stanley and Fayez Sarofim & Co. Her responsibilities included sector research, company valuation, and discussions with leadership teams. These positions helped deepen her understanding of how industries evolve and how value is created across different business models.
In 2000, Reema earned her MBA from the Kellogg School of Management. That same year, she joined Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette as an equity research analyst, where she provided research and investment recommendations for institutional clients. This role strengthened her ability to interpret financial information and communicate findings that guided informed decision-making.
Expanding Influence in Investment Management
Reema later became managing director and partner at JWS Technology Funds. She began as an analyst and eventually co-managed a multi-billion-dollar mutual fund focused on the technological sector. Her work also included investing in software and consumer companies for the hedge fund, which grew from $10 million in assets to more than $1 billion in assets.
This period highlighted Reema’s ability to navigate markets known for rapid changes in performance and direction. Her work at JWS earned recognition for her ability to identify value amid uncertainty. Yet even as she continued to excel in investment management, she became increasingly interested in applying her skills to ventures connected to education, community needs, and social innovation.
Working at the Intersection of Innovation and Social Impact
In 2010, Reema co-founded Foundze, Inc., an online platform built to help parents and educators find high-quality educational apps for children. The project marked a meaningful shift in her focus. It aligned her financial expertise with a mission-oriented approach to learning and technology.
Reema’s commitment to social impact became even more visible during her time at the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley from 2014 to 2017. There, she helped lead the launch of the Social Impact Collective in 2016. The program supported professionals in shaping philanthropic strategies and impact investment goals. It also demonstrated how structured learning could guide responsible action.
Her work with Golden Seeds in Silicon Valley further strengthened her focus on community-minded entrepreneurship. As managing director, she co-led investment rounds and helped build partnerships that connected women-led companies with the resources needed to scale.
Reema then served as an advisor at Stanford University's Center for Social Innovation. She mentored student teams in StartUp Garage, a course designed to help students explore ventures addressing real-world challenges. Her involvement provided students with grounded perspectives on both strategy and purpose.
In the years that followed, Reema continued her dual focus on finance and civic engagement. At ARA Family LLC, she oversaw a diverse portfolio of public companies and multi-asset funds. She also served as a consultant and Chairperson of the West Coast Advisory Board for The Acceleration Project (TAP), which provides targeted consulting services to small business owners.
Commitment to Service and Education
Beyond her professional responsibilities, Reema remains actively involved in organizations dedicated to learning and community support. She has volunteered with Peninsula Bridge, the Ravenswood Foundation, Sacred Heart Schools (Atherton), and the University of Pennsylvania. She has also contributed time and support to the San Francisco Food Bank and There With Care.
Reema’s involvement extends to board and advisory roles at institutions such as the Menlo School and the Netter Center at the University of Pennsylvania. These commitments reflect her belief that educational access and civic participation can help create stronger communities.
